The Role
Restructuring is obviously cyclical and the amount of work is at times dependent on market conditions etc. Overall, always given enjoyable and stimulating work & working environment is fantastic.
Short-term nature of internship not a massive problem, as colleagues made every effort to value and provide feedback. Regular team events (from drinks & nights out to football matches).
Good support provided, and access to pretty much all levels of management from day one. Great atmosphere within the team and questions are encouraged. If moving into a different area, the guidance given by executives through to directors was extremely good and helpful.
Always busy, although never totally out of comfort zone. Given ample time to complete the majority of tasks.
Given real projects and work from day one. Work was important, although due to nature of accountancy has to be checked at several stages. This is standard and not specific to intern positions. Again, responsibility would depend on current clients and the market
Great development for a business and/or finance related degree, and otehr disciplines looking to get into consultancy/accountancy would benefit strongly from the training & development.
The Company
Atmosphere in restructuring is quite unique, within individual team all the employees were extremely easy to get on with and this creating a very positive environment.
Improved as the internship progressed. The overall structure of the internship is very good, with individual co-ordinators and a buddy system, for example.
Initial induction was a significant investment. E&Y are investing for the future and aiming to attract the top graduates - the training through to the social events reflect this.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
If you perform successfully - the internship flows into the graduate programme. Training for qualifications is more attractive at E&Y than other rivals as time-off given around exam periods/college.
The Culture
Regular social events etc, built on strong foundations that the initial induction week provided (i.e split into northern/southern regions, so many offices interact at this stage).
Most parts of leeds are quite inexpensive and cheap - know the right areas.
Great nightlife. From leeds, very easy to go out in Manchester, York, Newcastle etc
Plenty. Corporate responsibility days. Football matches. Tennis. Generally a variety of sports and fixtures. Great network system
