The Role
Working within Intel was an eye opening experience which allowed me to experience the corporate world within an amazing culture.
People are quite friendly and are always open for questions and ready to help - all you have to do is ask.
Management was ready to help, support and guide me throughout my whole internship while also offering enough flexibility and freedom to allow for individuality and to carry out your workload as you'd like.
As it would be anyone's guess the workload is quite hefty, but you wouldn't expect anything else. The dynamic work place and load offers many opportunities to learn about different things, keep you busy and always offer you potential to do more.
From day one, we were put in a team, where we were given a real problem that we had to work on, which would then be used by the whole team; meaning that there was enough responsibility. You had to meet deadlines and deliver; while you could also ask for more work if you felt like you could deal with more responsibilities.
From the first day to the last, the whole experience was fantastic. You learn things by working, talking with people or even going to the pub with colleagues after work; which definitely assists to anything that you do post-internship.
The Company
People work hard but are always fun to be around and everyone was ready for a laugh.
The whole internship was very well organised, as everything was explained to us from before-hand and everything was done in a very professional manner following the initial plan.
We had a two full days financial crash course, while then received individual training on the job.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
I have already accepted an offer to join their graduate scheme. Can't wait to start!
The Culture
The social scene was great. We used to go for drinks after work almost weekly and sometimes a couple days in the week.
Socialising was great and the place was not very expensive.
Nightlife in the city was a bit boring! Not too many pubs
There were various activities that you could after work; for instance we trained together at the gym with other colleagues after work as well as created a fantasy football league
