The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working at Volkswagen Group, working in HR I was given large amount of responsibility and challenging projects to work on. I felt fully involved and comfortable that I was able to ask questions if I was unsure or required further information.
From day one I was made to feel part of the team and my presence and drive was valued.
My manager was always prepared to give a little extra guidance where necessary to help me produce the best results possible. The whole HR team where exceptionally friendly and worked closely together.
You are given the responsibility to manage your own workload by how much you take on from other colleagues. As expected some days are more busy than others, however there was definitely no time to be bored.
The HR team work very closely together on various projects and I always felt like I was part of the team in producing the results. I was also given projects and tasks which I had to manage and complete myself.
This is the first international blue-chip company of this scale that I have worked for and I have taken away some invaluable skills. I now have real-life experience from which I can draw upon to complete my studies and also in my future career.
The Company
In Volkswagen Group there are several different brands and departments but the friendly, can-do attitude remains consistent throughout. The HR team in which I was part of are exceptionally busy however it was always a positive environment to work in.
I was the first intern in the HR department so it was new to both the team and myself. However, once they realised my capability and drive I was given the workload and responsibility to reflect this. Throughout the duration of my internship I was given more challenging tasks and projects to complete as my knowledge in HR increased.
I was given the support and guidance necessary to complete the projects and I went on a few training courses so that I could use the required programs and software.

Company Parties/Events
After a short space of time working at Volkswagen Group it is clear to see how much employees enjoy working there and their value as part of the company. I will definitely be applying for their Graduate Scheme next year!
The Culture
There are a number of other students on undergraduate placements so you are able to socialise during your lunch hour or out of office.
