About You
It was a really good insight into Deloitte and their different service lines. Consisted of a case study in each. It was all very informal allowing us to ask questions at any time and getting true answers about a career with Deloitte.
They truly valued us, providing us with an amazing hotel for the night, and a really good dinner with Deloitte employees. Also, with having an interview before applications open to others, they are showing how they want the people that they have invested in.
Again, they answered all our questions thoroughly and honestly, and really helped us to understand what Deloitte does, but also what we would be doing as employees and how we could progress and shape what we wanted from it.
The case studies were a useful way in gaining more experience in teamwork etc. which can then be used in everything and not just my degree.
The Company
There was a vast amount of content. Employees were travelling from other offices to the one where the insight was held at, just to help us, and the timings ran smoothly. It seemed very well organised with one case study moving on to the next.
Very relaxed and informal, yet they wanted to really give you knowledge of Deloitte. I felt that the relaxed atmosphere was something that Deloitte tried to create not just for us but their employees.
They invested a lot giving us time and a range of employees to talk to. Also, an external speaker to help us with self-branding.
Provided many people to talk to and along with the case studies, it gave a clear idea of what the difference services provided. They had very good, focused case studies which gave more information of what Deloitte does rather than just a case study to solve.
I felt the culture was evident in the whole day, including the hosts and their style towards us. Seems like a really good place to work.
I have now understood each of their services and know which I am suited for and which I am applying for. I was undecided between two before the insight.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed up to £50 which seems reasonable - however, my train ticket was considerably more.
There were different employees coming in and out of our sessions, and the dinner provided us with some to network with. However, the dinner only had two employees per table with no rotations so I only learnt more on Audit and none of the other service lines.
The dinner was the only opportunity to really network, the other times you were too busy to stop and talk generally to the employees.
Only once mentioned, and it was not activities but more the social aspect of Deloitte. It sounds good however.
Very much so. Considering it was only 2 days, I learnt so much and I am looking forward to applying.
