The Role
I felt I was intergrated well into the team both professionally and socially. The work was varied and people took the time to explain what to do and how what I was doing contributed.
People gave feedback on pieces of work I did for my portfolio but also so that I learnt from the task. Many would email or ask me to do further work and told colleagues of my ability.
I was assigned a buddy, intern manager and counsellor and felt well looked after. They share their opinions and knowledge.
Was allowed to see client side of EY's work as well as shadow partners. This gave me insight to what I would be doing on a day-to-day basis if I first join but also what I could progress to do.
Work was always checked but I was able to compile reports, run WWDC models and go to client meetings: showing responsibility
EY taught me how to be confident and network. Communication skills have improved.
The Company
Serious when it needed to be, but good banter
Induction, support sytem and exit procedure - all very good
Limited in knowledge of accountancy but all colleagues supported me and explained work. Given online training and things were explained in the induction.
The Culture
Moved into halls of residence in Manchester
Involved in corporate social events and team bonding events like Go-Ape
