  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed the placement. The best things being the people and opportunities to learn and develop.

  • Felt very valued by the team I was working within, knowing the work I was doing was making a difference.

  • Given the relevant support when needed, and given feedback towards the end of the year on how I was doing.

  • Given many tasks and responsibilities, when there were quiter periods I was encouraged to complete training for my job and those for my own personal development.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots is given, you are treated like a proper member of staff. I have been given key tasks and run my own meeting that people dial into from all over the world.

  • I have learnt lots of skills beneficial to my degree and future degree including business experience and understanding.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It's a very laid back atmosphere. HP operate an open-door-policy where you can go and talk to anyone and ask questions. Lots of fun staff events are set up too.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very good but at times certain things like the intern recruitment process can get slightly delayed so don't worry if you haven't heard anything a while after the deadline.

  • Good training at first. A lot of my skills I developed were from my own experiences with work

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Being an intern with HP you are more likely to get a graduate position, grads have been brought in this year. Most interns this year have had their contacts extended and some have been offered part time jobs in their last year of university.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes lots of HP and self funded nights out with staff organised. Interns have coffee breaks, lunch and organise nights out outside of work. We also play sports together including table tennis.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Depends on the area, Bristol has both more expensive and cheaper areas, the areas closer to work are cheaper. Bristol is an amazing city full of shops, cafes, bars and clubs. There are also beautiful areas such as Clifton Zoo and the Suspension Bridge. There are many green spaces and activities such as ice skating, go karting, etc.

  • The nightlife is awesome. Many clubs, bars and pubs with music to sort any taste.
