About You
I really enjoyed the insight day, Everyone was really nice, really willing to answer any questions. Other students were really nice too. It was similar to other open days I attended, but I still enjoyed it nevertheless.
I felt pretty valued. Everyone was really nice and taking care of us. Lots of employees came to talk to us, and they were interested in what we had to say. People were really friendly and I felt that it was very welcoming.
We received a lot of useful information, for example, from a lecture that we had throughout the day. Again, as mentioned above, everyone was willing to answer any questions. In fact, what really stood out was how honest employees were when answering our questions.
It was quite helpful, both in terms of finding out more about pwc, but it was also helpful generally. In particular we had a skills session which I found to be quite useful. I quite liked the feedback we often got after completing exercises.
The Company
Very well structured. Everything was done on time, and there they had planned everything well. They seemed to have put a lot of effort into organising everything which I found to be quite nice- and I think it paid off!
It was really welcoming, I felt like when the employees came to talk to us, for example, during lunch, they seemed to be really interested in us, and in our answers. Graduate recruitment was nice too, and often came to see how were doing during the exercises.
Similar to what I have written before, it seemed like they had put in a lot of time and effort into making sure we had an enjoyable, yet informative, day. Despite it being only one day, I felt that I learnt a lot in terms of the people pwc were looking for.
Definitely a lot. We had already had a taste of what employees did on a day to day basis through this insight day. In particular, speaking to the employees helped me to find out more about what the culture of the firm was really like.
The employees were really honest when asked about this topic from students- and they seemed to like the company culture. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming so that was a big clue about what the firm was like.
It was really helpful in terms of letting us know what core competencies pwc valued- and so we could see whether or not we as individuals fit in with pwc and their core values. So it was useful in deciding whether or not to apply to pwc in the future.
Everything Else
I was paid back for the train tickets.
There was plenty of opportunity throughout the day. There were always someone to talk to, whether it was when they were helping us with the exercises, or during lunch. It was best to network during lunch as it was more relaxed.
As mentioned above, the networking opportunities were pretty good. As for the social side, this was only a one day thing so we did not have any social events organised for us. Also, we didn't really get to know all the students on the day that well as it was only for one day.
This was not really mentioned on the day, but from what I could gather, many of the employees seemed to be involved in a lot of things outside of work. I'm not sure if they had any clubs that employees could join like I know a lot of other firms do.
I would really recommend this to a friend. It is really useful if you just want to find out more about the company itself, or more about the industry as well. It is also nice to find out, aside from the work aspect, what the culture of the firm is like and to see if you could see yourself working there in the future.
