About You
The Spring into Deloitte Insight event was jam packed full of fun and useful games and presentations.
I was provided with a free Hotel room (to my self) at a decent hotel near the office with free dinner and breakfast buffet, and I was also provided with free rides between the hotel and the office (in a Mercedes!).
Every presenter paused at certain intervals during presentations to provide time for people to ask any questions.
The insight day (along with the networking opportunities and the answers to the questions asked) gave a sufficient amount of information about the company itself, what they offer and how to join.
The Company
The two days were clearly planned out in advanced and we were provided with a schedule for both days. The program was well structured in the sense that enough time was given to learn about each department and how to succeed in the application processes as well as enough time to relax at the hotel.
There were some quiet times with certain presentations, although overall it was quite entertaining.
There wasn't really much personal training per-se, the event is mainly focused on informing you about the company and a little on how to succeed in the first interview stage (for the summer internship).
We were provided with concise presentations which gave all of the information we required to learn about how it's like to work at Deloitte.
Being with Deloitte team members, you can really pickup the sense of the culture easily.
The information I gathered from the insight days have given me all of the information I need to make the decision that I definitely want to work for this prestigious company.
Everything Else
They pay for any travel expenses so long as you can prove them (i.e. bring a receipt or ticket).
Constant opportunities at the office and a dinner at the hotel dedicated to networking with Deloitte employees.
Learnt a lot from a wide range of people, at many times of the day.
There was some information given when networking with employees.
This truly is an excellent opportunity to learn about one of the preeminent accounting firms in the world and also a good opportunity to join the summer vacation scheme the following year (I'm a first year student).
