About You
It was a great day in a global investment bank full of engaging activities and top speakers, including many Managing Directors. It was well organised by the HR team.
This was the first Spring Insight Day RBC Capital Markets have ever run and they were very keen to ensure that we got a good overview of the firm.
We received a lot of guidance from those who monitor the application process and from those who have been in the industry their entire working life.
Learning what different divisions are comprised of and how individuals have become as successful as they are now is valuable information that is hard to come by.
The Company
Especially considering that this is the first Spring Insight Day ever conducted, it was carried out extremely well without a fault.
There was so much information to fit in there was almost no break, which in a one day insight is a great thing to have - everyone enjoyed it.
They invested in the delegates with a fast-track to an assessment centre for next summer's Summer Internship in your chosen division.
Employees talked through their day-to-day activities, and we also had a graduate panel speak to us and tell us what it's like to be new in the firm.
I'm sure you've heard about the culture at RBC Capital Markets - especially if you've read Flash Boys. It comes across even better in real life, it must be experienced.
Able to meet employees from both Global Investment Banking and Global Markets, I have a clear view on what I want to go into in the future.
Everything Else
You have the option to have your expenses reimbursed.
You had the opportunity to meet employees of all levels - analysts on the graduate scheme to veteran Managing Directors.
Plenty of chance to meet employees over drinks and food, should you wish.
We found out about their work-life balance but limited information on the actual activities.
Everyone should apply - this gives such a good insight into a global investment bank.
