The Role
I have really enjoyed by time at EY it has been a great learning experience and has allowed to persue a career within this service line.
As I had no tax technical knowledge it was hard for me to really engagement with most of the work however I did feel as though all staff members made time to help me understand the work that I was completing.
The management team have continually given be guidance over the future of my career both in terms of professional exams and specialist areas of work.
I was busy and had plenty of work to complete however I did not find any of the work stressful. I could have completed more work if it had been asigned to me.
I was not given a great deal of responsibility as this tends to lie with the management team however I was asigned work and therefore I was responsible for completing the work on time and to the correct standard.
I have developed a number of new skills whilst on my placement. The experience has given me more confidence so that when I come to working full time I will feel far more comfortable and settled.
The Company
The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly which made it enjoyable to be in the office.
The starting and finishing events where very well organised and there was a great deal of structure to the days. During my time at the office there was more flexibility to my placement which was really good.
EY had invested a great deal of time and resources into the summer internship programme and this has helped make me feel wanted.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
The idea of the internship is to find the graduates for the following year and therefore the future employment prospects are very high.
The Culture
During the internship a number of social events where set up. Most of these occured during the first week and they included: a resturant dinner, go karting and a final celerbration party.
Most of the social events where paid for by the company and therefore the socialising did not cost me anything.
In my service line we only went out twice however people tend to be very busy which makes nightlife difficult. When we did go out most of the team members did attend.
I never got involved with any of these opportunities however there where a number of activities outside of work that people could attend if they wanted to.
