The Role
I enjoyed worked across various teams to deliver projects for stakeholders within the company, and seeing the full projects fulfilled within a matter of weeks. I enjoyed being at the forefront of high profile marketing campaigns and products, and working to ensure maximum sales conversion from buyers.
Colleagues were very welcoming, making me feel part of a team and respecting my opinions and work ethic. They also allowed me to work on large projects with support at all times from all members of the team.
I had regular mentoring sessions with my undergraduate mentor and line manager to ensure I was making progress and my work load was reasonable. They also ensured I was positioned on projects to gain experience and give the opportunity to share my skills.

Managing large projects, with support and entrusted with managing changes on the website from the very beginning. As my commercial awareness skills improved I was approaching colleagues more often to help with the project.
The commercial awareness skills and communication skills (the soft skills) were highly beneficial in helping prepare for the world of work, as well as applying to daily life. My technical and marketing expertise that I have gained throughout the placement has been directly useful in an entrepreneurial project at university .
The Company
A good community spirit and work culture, with praising of good work and respecting of all the employees.
Well structured, with a structure support and progress program. Formal training was conducted via online training schemes and chances to reflect on work habits and job roles was key.
Online training as necessary to improve certain skill sets as well as giving opportunities to learn on a daily basis.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
From the placement, I was recommended onto the graduate program, whereby I skip the application process. A placement at BT is highly recognized by many employers who understand the high profile campaigns at roles that I have played.
The Culture
A social calendar was organised by Gradnet on a monthly basis for the graduates and internship students, to get to know each other.
Generally high due to London costs. The only disadvantage would be a large percentage of the money earned is spent on accommodation and travel costs.
Great but expensive!
Yes, because the placement was based in London, therefore there were many opportunities at weekends and evenings for entertainment.
