The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement! Great Place to work.
Being an American company, most people neglected interns. But, you have to prove what you're capable of in order to be valued.
On my particular role, it's expected that you on your own with minimal support.
Quite a busy placement, 10 months will go by before you know it.
Lots of responsibility up for grabs once you gain trust from people you are working with.
I learnt alot of Product Management, Business Management, Sourcing, Marketing, Supply Chain etc More importantly influencing people I have no directly authority over.
The Company
Depends on which team you're in. I was in a rather loud friendly office, some of the other offices are quite.
Pretty well organised company
GE invests alot in training courses and courses are available to everyone. But, you have to take the initiative to book courses and get it approved.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Pretty good, loads of grad schemes in various divisions. You have to re-apply as a graduate on completion of the internship.
The Culture
We had 10 interns here, we went out for meals, bowling, golf etc. It was reasonably sociable.
Hampshire/Surrey's quite an expensive place compared to the North.
Nightlife in Guildford/Reading - Both are 20 miles away!
Loads of stuff going on in terms of sports around the area.
