The Role
The work was interesting, the people were lovely, only struggle I had was getting used to working all day 5 days in a row!
Everyone I worked with at EY was so friendly and asking for help when struggling with work was always easy.
Managers were always willing to give you an overview on the audit engagement you were on to give you a broader understanding of how the testing related to the whole audit, and they were always happy to explain to you about their career and how they've been promoted and what roles they've had.
It depended on the job you were on, whether there was a reporting deadline coming up, and how many people were on your team. One job was very relaxed and I completed my work within a couple of hours each day, whereas another job was really busy as sections had to be completed by the end of the week.
I was given a lot more responsibilty then I expected, such as talking to clients on my own about their processes and being responsible for certain documents myself.
Will hopefully be going into audit when I graduate so skills I've learnt during the internship should help, and might help with some accounting modules at university.
The Company
I wasn't in the office mcuh as I was out at client site most of the time, but the general atmosphere in the office seems to be that everyone is quite quiet getting on with there work but there is still people to chat to and ask for help. It's a bit more relaxed at clients because you're with less people.
So well organised, we got given booklets telling us what we'd be doing during the inducion, got lots of info at the induction itself, and even had the train tickets for the final event arranged for us! There's always someone to contact if you're not sure about something too.
Everyone I worked with spent time talking me through what I'd be doing and then answering questions that I came up with while I was working on it
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Fingers crossed for a job offer off them!
The Culture
Everyone was up for going out at the induction, bit harder to meet up once you're working in the office because everyone is working on differnet jobs and might be staying away, but everyone keeps in contact and tries to meet up.
Used to living here, but typical south prices for Bristol.
Plenty of places to choose if you're going out
Not particularly, but may be that this was their quiet season so there's not as much going on
