The Role
It really has been a great placement. I have had a lot of fun experiences as well as gaining some invaluable skills and work experience to take with me after graduation.
My colleagues helped me settle in immediately and I always felt part of the team. They were always ensuring I took part in any team activities too.
I always felt as though I could contact my manager if I ever needed any help or advise. My manager also contacted my regularly to ask how I was doing or to set me some work.
I was generally busy but did have occasions where I had no work on, however if you go out of your way to look for work you will definitely find some.
I was put in charge of a couple of important forecast reports and calls which were vital to the running of the sales team.
I have gained so many skills I have no doubt will assist me in my future career. Most notably my skills on excel and SalesForce which I hope will strongly benefit me in the future.
The Company
It is a very lively office, particularly the sales floor.
When we started we had an initial month of training with the previous interns who taught us how to do the job efficiently.
I was given countless opportunities to attend training sessions or participate in online training to develop almost any area I wanted to.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I would very much like to come back but will have to re-apply for the grad scheme.
The Culture
There is a very large intern community within HP and also within the Thames Valley area which means socially it's good fun. Inter-company bar crawls enable interns to get to know each other and charity fundraising provides a lot of memorable experiences within the company.
Reading, fairly cheap depending on where you go as with most places.
There were few restaurants and pubs around. Not the best nor worst.
Charity fundraising is big within HP and there are constantly activities you can take part in.
