About You
Didn't really gain much information from this at all.
Formal presentations and activities prepared well (this is not talking about the quality of the activities, simply that they were prepared)
Graduates were there to answer questions that we had. However for a group of around 50 students I feel there weren't enough grads to answer all of our questions - there were about 5 grads and there should have at least one from each area of the workforce.
Group case study was the only useful part but lasted a very short amount of time out of the long day that it was.
The Company
Activities where set out and timing was kept
Lack of motivation through standard activities.
Ratio of graduates to students was not as high as previously experienced (about 1:10 compared to insight days at other firms about 1:5). Graduates seemed unenthusiastic about the day and didn't seem to have made any prior preparations. Everyone seemed very passive and not active nor interactive.
The structure of the graduate programme was made very clear.
The company culture was frequently discussed and some activities that had taken place as a result of the culture were presented.
Good points: Since I plan to enter into a technological role in a banking environment it was helpful that some of the grads had SOME experience in the 'digital' division. However that still had little to discuss. Bad points: No IT graduate was there on the day (and at the time of applying there were very few reviews about an IT role in Lloyds thus I was hoping that an IT grad would be there on the day). The day seemed to drag on.
Everything Else
In process of reimbursing expenses
Speed networking session - with selection of graduates Lunch networking opportunity - with selection of graduates and staff Would have like to talk to some longer term employees of the firm in a range of divisions (not just on graduate recruitment)
Majority of graduates seemed very unenthusiastic and didn't show a positive attitude on the day
These were discussed in the presentations
If you plan to apply for Lloyds specifically then yes. If you plan to get an insight into the general application process then yes. If you plan to get an insight into banking then not so much.
