The Role
I enjoyed my placement very much as it gave me an insight into working in an accountancy firm.
I felt like they had plenty of time for me and wanted me to have as good an experience as possible.
At all stages I was supported and given the required guidance.
For weeks 2 and 3 of my placement I was relatively quiet. However this is largely due to the time of year and the worked picked up later.
I wrote letters and was set many different tasks. At the end of each stage there was a review of the work I had carried out.
It has made me realise that this is teh area I want to move into when I leave university. For this reason it has been invaluable in guiding my selecting of specific subjects.
The Company
Everybody in the office was very friendly.
Any downtime was filled with other project work. This helped to fill times when I was quiet.
It has helped me to decide what area of accountancy I want to move into when I graduate.
Company Parties/Events
Very, this is where I ould like to work next year.
The Culture
My colleagues were very sociable and we spent time outside the office together fairly regularly.
I stayed at home and the cost of socialising was never a worry.
Glasgow has excellent nightlife
I played football with the guys from work for charity and participated in a corporate social responsibility day.
