The Role
It was a tough year as I was given real responsibility - which meant stress at times. However was very enjoyable and something to gain real experience from!
I was part of a small team and I felt that I was truly valued as an employee as well as for my work.
Nothing was ever too much, always time to talk and always able to answer questions and help you out if you get stuck.
Due to the nature of the job it was expected to have some extremely busy periods as well as the occasional lull. It was hard to manage at first but something you easily adjust to.
I was given real responsibility to work on important events.
I developed some important transferable skills that I believe will benefit me well in future jobs.
The Company
HP is an open office which makes for a good atmosphere and easy to find and talk to the people that you need to. However it can get get stressful if others around you are stressed.
Well organised, halls booked for the first month and a welcome meeting on arrival. However beyond this you are in the hands of your manager and there is little to no standardised structure for all interns.
I received a lot of development opportunities, taking on more responsibility and gaining confidence in my abilities. However I was not aware of any training programmes that would be relevant to my role.

Non-sales graduate jobs are limited, but not impossible to be hired post-graduation.
The Culture
Lots of interns at HP, with the majority living on adjacent roads in Reading. Lots of nights out through the year, easy to pop round to others houses on a weeknight!
Far cheaper than living down south - Interns live in a student area with cheap rent.
Good night out in Reading - do not believe there is anything in Bracknell!
There are charity events to get involved in, such as 3 Peaks and Palace to Palace.
