The Role
Placement was really enjoyable- its a good introduction to working in this environment. Overall very pleased I have done this placement.
Really easy to fit in. The scheme is very sociable as there are so many undergraduates and graduates on placement.
Really helpful- management want us to do well and get as much as we can out of the placements.
This would vary- some days would be very busy, and others would be much quieter- this depended on what was happening in and around the department.
Given my own ongoing projects to undertake- including research and development of a product idea/ supplier.
Really useful for the future. Given me more confidence in a working environment. Invaluable insight into the business world which will prove very beneficial after University.
The Company
Easy going- everyone was very helpful and friendly in the office- best working environment I have been involved in.
Very well organised- lots of interaction with other placements. Easy to tell that the schemes have had a lot of time and effort put into them. Overall very structured and well organised.
They involved me in as much as possible around the business. Very keen to give an insight into the business world and encourage us to come back.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I would certainly consider applying for a graduate placement with the company after I have finished University- from my experience, this is one of the best companies to get involved with. Offers very appealing future prospects.
The Culture
As there are so many placements (graduates, undergraduates, Industrial placements) there is a fantastic social scene- I think a lot of smaller companies would struggle to offer such a social place to be involved.
My home town, therefore personally very cheap to live and work here.
Nightlife isn't great- Barrow is a very small town- but there are plenty of cities a trains ride away for those who do not come from the area.
Weekly nights out with the other undergraduate placements. The graduates were active on setting up outside events for anyone interested.
