About You
It was an informative and well organised insight day.
We were split into small groups (about 6 people per group) and there was someone from EY leading each group for every activity.
Plenty of guidance from the staff who shared their own experiences and supported our work, without spoon-feeding us.
After the Insight Day Ernst and Young stayed in contact and I am currently beginning the application process for a graduate role with them.
The Company
They knew exactly what they were doing, and struck a great balance between giving information and letting us apply our knowledge and demonstrate our skills.
Everyone else was really keen to be there and the groups really gelled together to make the day productive and fun.
Ernst and Young have been in contact with me for nearly a year and have been very helpful with guiding my application for a graduate role.
It gave me a good picture of what to expect, but obviously the best way to learn is to be successful in my current application. As far as the Insight Day went, they certainly gave me a positive impression.
I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of effort they went through to really show off EY.
All the service lines were discussed in detail and the group task showed me how the varying skills of each member only serves to help. The day showed me that my skills were valued.
Everything Else
Before the day EY emailed and told me where to send my receipts so I could be reimbursed.
The only contact we had was with the recruitment staff, but that contact has proved invaluable considering they are still helping me through my current application.
It was great to meet the other students on the placement, and seeing how varied they were was a good insight into what the EY working environment would be like.
We weren't told too much about what they get up to, but as EY is based in large cities you can certainly imagine what the opportunities for socializing are.
It was a great opportunity to learn about graduate jobs and to see these firms for what they really are, not just a website.
