The Role
I enjoyed the fact that I was doing work than an Analyst would be doing and I felt that I gained a valuable insight into what Consulting entails.
The two projects varied in the amount I felt that I was helping colleagues. On one project I helped produce a valuable document which was of great use to them.
The extent of support and guidance varied on different projects and different managers- however, overall the support and guidance provided was good.
Some days I had a lot to do, whereas others I was not given very much- I think this is the same on any placement in any industry- it depends on the amount of work and the type of work available and on the managers schedule.
Some documents I produced were very important and so being given the task of completing them in given deadlines set meant that I was given quite a bit of responsibility at times.
At the end of each project there is the opportunity for feedback, which has been invalubale- as it helps you identify your areas for development.
The Company
The people were very intelligent and fun, which helped add to a great atmposhere.
The organisation of the internship was great- Emma Simons did a fantastic job!
We had a weeks induction, which included presentations and team building exercises (including an activities day away!)
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
It's a good, well recognised firm- with opportunities for seconment abroad and lots of opportunity to travel. There is lots of room for development and if you work well, there are good chances to advance quickly.
The Culture
Definitely! There were plenty of socials organised for us, we organised lots ourselves and we were given an £800 allowance to organise our final social on the last day of the internship!
The social activities were paid for by Deloitte. I lived with my parents for the scheme, however for people who moved to London for it- living in London and cost of social activities was high
London nightlifes great
There are plenty available...e.g sports, clubs etc
