The Role
A struggle at first as not enough work was being assigned to me. Now I am more settled, it is the most enjoyable thing I have ever done
Colleagues I work with on a day to day basis are very supportive, that have helped me through all the difficulties I faced coming up to speed with the account. My colleagues on the same scheme as me are like family to me.
Very supportive first line manager (1LM), 2 of my 3 task managers (2LM) were always there for me when I needed support. It would have been better if my main task manager acknowledged that I existed rather than ignoring me
Some weeks were really busy (running around like a headless chicken sort of busy), others particularly at the beginning of the month, I had very little work as this was my main education time. As a whole it was okay
I was responsible for a variety of tasks. All those my team task managers set me I was totally responsible for. The work I was doing for a client needed to be checked over by a more qualified professional in the team, this was due to the procedures in place on the account and was not necessarily due to my experience levels
Useful business skills have been learnt. Some of the technical knowledge will not be of much use in my studies next year
The Company
My base location was really lively, always something going on. Client site was the same.
I experience some technical issues regarding the laptop I was provided but after these were resolved, everything has been fine
Very little face top face training due to my team being spread country wide but there was a lot going on virtually (e.g. via conference calls, online medium etc)
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Good future prospects within the organisation, although I am currently considering other options more tailored to my career aspirations.
The Culture
Always met up for lunch, we did a variety of activities including frisbee and table football. After the quarterly meetings we always went out self funded and it was amazing
I was living at home and commuting in to the office everyday. Socialising was pretty cheap though
Around my base location nightlife was lacking as it was a small village but the nearest town was not too far away so it wasn't really a problem.
Numerous giveback opportunities.
