The Role
Overall, I loved the job that I was doing for the year
The people I worked with were extremely supportive of me and my priorities
The support throughout my year has been great, not only by my manager and team but by the wider IBM team too
The role I had meant that parts of the month were busier than others but it was a great balance.
I was given responsibility from the word go which was great
I think this year was extremely beneficial for the future, not so much heading back to uni as I do not do a business related degree
The Company
Like any office in a mobile environment, it could be busy one day and quiet the next
With the support of Foundation, the organisation of the placement has been flawless.
The opportunity for personal growth is vast due to the online education but there are also compulsory sessions that we attended which really did help us at different stages of our placement
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I will definitely be applying back for a graduate role
The Culture
In my office, there were over 70 placement student which made it great for the social aspect
Working in Portsmouth has the benefit of being in a university town which meant that there were always cheaper nights out to go to
Not the best nightlife but couldn't complain about it
With such a big group of placement students there were always things to do outside of work
