About You
It was an eye opening experience, I found out a lot about the company, I had the chance to see what working within the different service lines feels like and I met a lot of lovely people from the company. I also interacted with a lot of like minded students.
Everyone was very approachable. I was given the chance to speak to everyone form the company and have my questions answered.
We were given instructions during the group exercises and we were also able to ask questions, but at the same time we were encouraged to act as an independent team and make decisions so that we get a feel of the different services Deloitte provides to its customers.
It helped me practice my presentation, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
The Company
I feel like the company invested in me by giving me the chance to be fast tracked for an interview for their summer vacation scheme.
It was very helpful, because we met 3-4 people from each service line and also at the dinner we were able to network with them. There were very detailed presentations about each service line. Furthermore, there were a few case studies for which we needed to prepare small presentations which really helped us see what types of businesses and business risks Deloitte deals with.
It helped me see what type of people work for Deloitte and what they have in common between themselves and also what I have in common with them. It helped me picture myself working for the company and reassured me that I will feel comfortable, but at the same time constantly challenged and excited in this environment, which is something I look for.
I discovered a service line which I became really interested in and I decided to apply for, because believe it requires the skills I have, but will also help me develop new ones.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed travel expenses.
We were able to ask questions during both days and we also had a dinner with Deloitte employees.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, because I received very valuable advice on applying for jobs and internships in general, not only for Deloitte. I had the opportunity to not only meet people working for Deloitte, but to get to know them and learn about their personal experience with Deloitte. This experience showed me how far I've developed my employability compared to other candidates and helped me realize what I need to work on. Most importantly it gave me the amazing opportunity to apply for a service line and an office of my choice for the summer vacation scheme next year.
