About You
The day would have been very good for 1st years. As a 2nd year who had recently found an internship, a lot of it did not feel very applicable.
Everyone was friendly and welcoming.
There was appropriate levels of guidance and support throughout
As it was only a day, I don't believe that you could take a huge amount away from it. However, it would have been great for first years who are trying to decide what internships to apply for before their penultimate year
The Company
It was fine and kept to schedule
The general atmosphere was okay
There was a useful assessment centre simulation. I acted as the assessor as I have been to an AC and have gotten an internship for the summer. But, it was interesting to act as the assessor and helped me to reflect on my previous performance.
They had graduates there who talked to us about their roles at the business. However, I would have felt quite confused if I did not have a general understanding of banking processes
They seem to have a good culture there
Both of the days I spent at banks this semester has made me realise that at this point I shouldn't look into banking as a career! That sounds negative but its a very positive thing. Thankfully I have found somewhere where I think I will flourish but you need to go on these experiences to help narrow down what you want to go into!
Everything Else
Reimbursed travel expenses
Yes, with some graduates
Over lunch mainly
Not really. The grads sounded like they worked very long hours and didn't talk much about their life outside of work. Would have been good to hear more about that
If the friend was in their first year then definitely yes!
