The Role
Very enjoyable and I learnt a huge amount, but the graduate applications process 'game' could be a bit disheartening.
My team was very friendly supportive and caring.
My task managers were very supportive. My professional development manager was less involved.
Busy, but I still had time to pursue areas of interest such as lunch and learn sessions and extra training/development.
I was given a lot of responsibility, I didn't feel like an intern and wasn't considered as one. However, I was always supported so never felt lost.
Excel skills, understanding different styles of management, how to work in an actual team (not a university project!), how a massive company works, etc.
The Company
Lively! A lot of team meetings which kept motivation levels high.
The 'Foundation' team was primarily run by interns. This ensured that the program catered for the right audience.
A lot of training was on offer - lunch and learn sessions etc. However I was more keen to get involved in the training for IBMers where possible.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Applying for a graduate position.
The Culture
Not too full on but plenty of opportunities.
London...
Again... London...
IBM does not limit the number of volunteering hours you can do, which is fantastic. Really allows you to get involved with the community outside.
