The Role
Enjoyed my role, despite lacking more technical aspects. The role I was in was more orientated towards project work, data and improvements.
My contributions were always valued and I was given a minimum of menial jobs.
Actual support and face time was very good but lacked a structure. Had discussions with other members of the management team including the operations manager about personal development and career progression.
Depending on how many projects I had at any given moment, it varied. My line manager allowed me to sideline projects as long as appropriate justification was given. Lack of structure had a side effect on this.
Was able to create, fund and lead projects which had visible effects on the plant.
Was given British standards certified lean/six sigma 'yellow belt' training to do a project and used those skills throughout the year. Given training to do certain tasks (like PPCAs) when required and was also given excel training.
The Company
I moved office 3 times. The first was enjoyable, the second less so and the last was by myself.
Overall organisation for the placement group was good with interesting visits to other factories but specific to me there was a lack of structure
Had the opportunity to go on a couple of excel training course and was sent on a lean manufacturing yellow belt course.

Depends a lot on what you want, the first year of the grad job is spent on shift which means a you end up working odd times and odd days
The Culture
Depends on the effort the placements spent to hang out with each other.
Bury is expensive for what you get housing wise, has plenty of big supermarkets dotted around. Not the mst reasonable for a pint either.
Bury has a small nightlife and the area I lived in was on a route towards one of the clubs seemed to have a lot of fights/yelling matches around there.
Again depends what you made of it, most of the people you work with are older than you and those your age were often in a role like an apprentice/lab analyst/operator. I spent a lot of my time outside Bury
