    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Amazing placement!! Sent out to Paris twice and Barcelona once, not to mention countless other opportunities that arose.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Literally couldn't feel closer to my team and I hear this throughout the business. E.g. I'm going to a manager's house soon for a meeting with bbq and drinks :)

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Full support whenever you need it, not just from your managers and close team, but from anybody in the business!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most days quite busy but not overwhelming and some days are much more relaxed. I'd say I had 'too' much work for about two weeks, this was a stressful period but nonetheless very happy to have overcome it.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I write a weekly sales and data analysis report for the Vice President of my industry for Europe. This person is very very senior in the business and my team now trust me to deliver this analysis without help on a weekly basis.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Indefinitely, but what I will add to study/work skills, IBM allows you to develop your life skills at the same time

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Lots of people work from home so I don't see them unless we have meetings. Many of the interns like to go in for the social aspect though including myself

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Best in the country by far

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Again best in the country from what I've heard speaking to mates elsewhere

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Applying back as a grad

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Always out!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Pretty grim, the only problem with London but if you find the cheaper places you're safe

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Decent, Clapham

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The usual musicals, bars etc... I also play IBM football 5-a-side

    4/5
