The Role
The placement overall was very enjoyable. The nature of the job meant that no day was the same which made it an exciting prospect coming to work in the morning!
I feel I have been valued as an integral part of the team and have been given the opportunity, on many occasions, to make valuable contributions.
My manager and the team were extremely supportive throughout the placement, they were always on hand to speak to me on a professional and personal level.
The responsive nature of the role meant that the workload fluctuated, but there were rarely any occasions where I didn't have much to do.
Having mentioned earlier, I felt that I was an integral part of the team from the start and this reflected in the work that was delegated to me. The team were there to support me if needed, but independent working and taking responsibility was greatly encouraged.
I would highly recommend anyone who has the opportunity to undergo a placement to do one. It hugely helps with personal development; especially with confidence and working in a professional environment. The discipline of working long days will definitely be transferrable when I get back to complete my degree.
The Company
The general atmosphere could not have been more welcoming with the open office arrangement. It is quite a social organisation also, with different sporting events being held in the evenings.
Really well structured, with fortnightly 1-2-1 meetings with my manager to discuss anything. Lots of personal development opportunities are held which everyone is encouraged to attend.
The company heavily invested in every individuals personal development. There have been several occasions this year where I have attended master classes, workshops and conferences.

The company is dynamic and growth has been evident, even in my short time here. I would definitely consider applying for a role that I find appealing within the organisation.
The Culture
There were quite a few students in the placement, with the inclusion of the Independent Associated Companies (IACs).
Cambridge is an expensive city, but I haven't held back on socialising due to monetary reasons.
Cambridge is a big student city, with 2 universities here but we didn't often get a chance to go out on student nights so I can only rate the weekend nightlife, which was fairly average.
As mentioned earlier, there were several sports activities organised throughout the year. As a result of partaking in those activities, I have joined a local cricket team.
