The Role
Fantastic company to work for who give Interns jobs that are valued.
After induction you are treated like a full time member of the team.
Plenty of support and opportunities to develop skills.
The workload was about perfect. Being in a finance role meant month end periods were very busy, but this is balanced with the quieter periods mid-month.
Real responsibility with all aspects of work.
The opportunities to develop skills are limitless. Anything you want to try, explore or learn is available.
The Company
Totally dependant on who you work with, but my team were friendly, supportive and so knowledgeable!
Well structured IT programme with opportunities to explore. Shadowing, education, regular reviews, sports...
No matter what topic you want to learn about, there will be suitable education to suit. Plenty of events, roundtables and education specifically targeted at engaging the Interns.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Graduate jobs are competitive, but definitely worth applying for!
The Culture
The Interns all eat lunch together, socialize outside of work, and depending upon your role you maybe working with others in your team.
Being based in Portsmouth meant rent and cost of living were a lot cheaper than London.
Portsmouth isn't the best. But there are plenty of other IBM locations, depending on role.
Plenty of subsidized sport, theater shows, whatever you wanted to get involved with you could.
