    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was great to finally experience working in a job which I most probably will be employed in once I graduate from university. I found my time at Asda challenging and hard work yet very rewarding and worth the effort, blood, sweat, and tears.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People were nice and I made great mates with a chick near me who I was always chatting with and having a laugh but also was a big help if I needed any advice or help on the work.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I always had masses of support and guidance and with Bev next to me I never felt isolated or on my own.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was constantly busy but I like to be occupied so I liked the heavy workload.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was only in the last month that I was entrusted with having the final say on decisions.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt and enhanced my knowledge of many skills which will be essential for my career; however, I would also like to work at ASDA in the future so now I know how they operate and the workload and ethic required.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I had such a great time with Bev that everyday felt like a school field-trip!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I had to apply but then I was informed of everything else that was required of me. ASDA were very punctual in getting back to me with my results from the entrance assessments.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had great experience of how ASDA regulates and assesses its products which is a great development intellectually.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • After working for them I really want to get a job with them once I leave university. I will definitely apply...

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Me and a few of the office girls got on like a house on fire!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in my student digs which weren't that expensive but Leeds is quite expensive the further in you venture.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Leeds has loads and loads of bars, clubs, theatres, bowling plexes, cinemas, everything really. Everyone can have a great night out!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was invited to a few events and to a football match.
