The Role
It was great to finally experience working in a job which I most probably will be employed in once I graduate from university. I found my time at Asda challenging and hard work yet very rewarding and worth the effort, blood, sweat, and tears.
People were nice and I made great mates with a chick near me who I was always chatting with and having a laugh but also was a big help if I needed any advice or help on the work.
I always had masses of support and guidance and with Bev next to me I never felt isolated or on my own.
I was constantly busy but I like to be occupied so I liked the heavy workload.
It was only in the last month that I was entrusted with having the final say on decisions.
I learnt and enhanced my knowledge of many skills which will be essential for my career; however, I would also like to work at ASDA in the future so now I know how they operate and the workload and ethic required.
The Company
I had such a great time with Bev that everyday felt like a school field-trip!
I had to apply but then I was informed of everything else that was required of me. ASDA were very punctual in getting back to me with my results from the entrance assessments.
I had great experience of how ASDA regulates and assesses its products which is a great development intellectually.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
After working for them I really want to get a job with them once I leave university. I will definitely apply...
The Culture
Me and a few of the office girls got on like a house on fire!
I lived in my student digs which weren't that expensive but Leeds is quite expensive the further in you venture.
Leeds has loads and loads of bars, clubs, theatres, bowling plexes, cinemas, everything really. Everyone can have a great night out!
I was invited to a few events and to a football match.
