About You
Was a great opportunity to speak to current employees firsthand. There were employees from various divisions, so it was a great insight into the type of everyday work that they are responsible for.
I felt greatly valued from the minute I stepped into the building.. They made me feel welcome in an instant.
As it was only an insight day, there weren't too many opportunities for the staff to give me guidance or support on any particular issues.
It has helped me understand what I should do from now on in order to follow that particular career pathway. Also, speaking with the current employees helped me to confirm that this job is for me.. There was also a presentation by a current manager of one of the divisions, which was particularly helpful. She explained the various important decisions she had to make in every step of her career in order to reach where she is now. This helped me to understand the type of work I have to do now at university in order to follow that particular career pathway. Also, as one of the graduate recruiters, she gave us tips on what they are looking for in an applicant. For example, things like excellent grades at university, involvement in societies, taking the leadership role, part-time work, things to say at an interview etc.
The Company
Reasonably well structured. The presentations/talks/group exercises were very well planned.
It was a friendly and informal atmosphere, where everyone was always encouraged ask questions.
As it was an insight day, the company did not have the opportunity to invest much on me.
It gave a good and friendly impression overall, but its difficult to judge the real atmosphere from working at the firm, based on an insight day alone.
The company culture was particularly stressed during some of the presentations... Gave a good impression.
Very valuable.. We were involved in mock group exercises, which gave us an insight into what it is like during the 'assessment centre' part of an application process.
Everything Else
They offered upto £50 for travel expenses.
Yes, a good part of the insight day was dedicated towards speaking to current employees. One of the current employees also sat with us during the group exercise.
Yes, as we were allowed to speak to employees on an individual basis.
Yes, some of the staff talked about how they were involved in charity events such as marathons in order to raise money for Lloyds Group's 'charity' of the year'.
Definitely, its a great opportunity to learn more about the profession and the type of work the staff indulge in daily. The group exercise is also really useful for the future while applying for graduate roles.
