The Role
I really enjoyed my placement - I was able to get involved in so much!
My team were always really appreciative and keen to get my opinion!
Managers were happy to help and offer you guidance.
I was kept busy so really needed to learn how to prioritise.
I was able to lead on projects which was fantastic!
My placement has prepared me for post university life!
The Company
Very relaxed atmosphere and everyone was friendly.
My placement was well organised - beforehand Unilever kept in contact and was really supportive through the application process. When I started placement I had clear objectives for the year but still had the flexibility to get involved with things that interested me!
Everything was well planned, so we could understand the company culture properly.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a place on the graduate scheme during my last week on placement.
The Culture
The social scene was good but it is self initiated - you have to champion setting up socials etc rather than the company organising things.
We were lucky and managed to find a cheaper place to rent - travel was a bit steep so we car pooled to save some money. We loved 25mins to Waterloo which was great! One of the other placement students wrote a where to live guide to help new students get to grips with the different areas!
I was based in leatherhead but lived closer to London - leatherhead is good for a pub drink after work but not much more.
Only if you sort it out yourself.
