The Role
I really enjoyed my placement simply due to the amount of people I was able to add to my network.
Because I was given very little responsibility I felt I was not a particularly valued asset.
My direct management team were fairly senior in the organization and thus they did their best to give guidance and support in their spare moments.
I was not very busy with day to day tasks and had to be proactive in finding things to involve myself in.
By the end of the year I was running my own events with the support of the team
I made good use of free time to hone skills that were then of use in my career.
The Company
Small office thus the best atmosphere was found once I left my desk. This was not the case for other placement students.
Very well in other roles, mine was just not a particularly busy one
Anything I suggested or wanted to get involved in was supported
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Decided to go back in another role, in a much busier team with a more social ethos.
The Culture
There were a number of placement students working in the same office who socialised in and out of work
I lived near Southampton and found I managed fine in the area. Living in London may have been more challenging.
Good and fairly close!
Quite a few, the social scene down there was quite active.
