The Role
Lots of opportunities available in IBM for extra involvement outside of everyday job.
All very happy to help and gave really helpful feedback for reviews
Manager and supervisor were both very happy to help and support for any issues.
Plenty of work to do, but not too much that you become overwhelmed. My particular job meant there were variations in how busy I was but I had other things to do.
Plenty of responsibility for my own learning at first, then working with customers every day.
I learnt a lot during my placement, some applicable to everyday things, some more specific to my job role.
The Company
Good atmosphere, everyone happy to chat and answer any questions. Time for having fun but still times to get on with work or learning in an environment that made it much easier.
The placement scheme in IBM is huge and very well organised. Great availability to ask questions, get to know other people and get involved!
Great opportunities throughout the placement for training and development in almost any area you want to learn. Personal development was also good through reviews throughout the year giving presentations that really help you to grow as a person, especially in confidence.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Plenty of varying roles to apply for, great graduate scheme for after my degree.
The Culture
Lots of students within my office as well as across the UK.
I did not live in the area specifically but other students seemed to be fine with the costs around them.
In the specific area I don't think there was a huge nightlife but easy travel to Central London
There were activities available throughout for different kinds of activities, some set up by students, some from students.
