The Role
I have enjoyed working with my team and learning a lot about areas I had not thought about before in the business world.
My team have been brilliant throughout the placement and have answered many of my queries regarding the company and work we do.
I feel my opinions have mattered and my manager has given me time and understanding with my viewpoints on many projects.
Depending on how many customers we had on site it varies but I had other work to be getting on with in quiet periods.
As the only person with a computing background I was given a large range of responsibilities in terms of communicating global IT changes to the team and helping each team member with individual issues.
I have not learnt new technical skills that would help within university as such, although I have used existing skills in the work environment. I have certainly gained many soft skills and other areas of interest in the business. I have been allowed to go on relevant training to supplement my work.
The Company
My colleagues were always happy to talk and answer queries.
It was excellent to have my predecessor with me for the first couple of weeks to get used to the internal way of doing things.
I was offered a variety of internal courses and even some external training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Within Cummins there are definitely opportunities but not as many in this country for my type of degree.
The Culture
I lived away from Daventry so was never really involved.

I lived away from Daventry so was never really involved.
I was involved with the cricket team and there are many opportunities to represent the company at events and to help in the community.
