The Role
I really enjoyed experiencing such a corporate and professional environment, particularly straight after school.
I felt that I was contributing to the team and that my role was increasing efficiency, helping others and so they valued my contribution.
My managers supported me when I found something difficult and needed help. I do think they could have done more to support my overall development in terms of aims/goals and helping me to achieve these throughout the year.
I was busy but the level of this came in peaks and troughs, at times I would be completely swamped, which is enjoyable but hard work, and others I would not have much to do. But overall, I was never found sitting around with nothing to do.
I was trusted with tasks and responsibilities quite early on and these progressed through the year. I felt that I was trusted and expected to take care of certain tasks a lot of the time.
It was valuable. So I am sure the experience will help me in my near future.
The Company
Really jovial and relaxed team members who made the office an enjoyable place to be.
On-boarding was poor, we were not given nearly enough detail before we started the placement.
I feel like the little training we had was very vague and generic, not really aimed at developing anything in particular.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Good, although I am not interested in coming back.
The Culture
Yes we had a really good community within the placement students but also the graduates and apprentices which meant there was always some social event happening.
Everything was cheap, from getting a drink to a game of bowling was pleasantly surprising and meant everyone could take part.
There were a few places to go, they were all really cheap so it was easy to go out and have a good time. The university students guaranteed a good nightlife.
Yes a few like sports clubs and charity works.
