The Role
I've enjoyed my time here (with some still to go) and have been able to get involved in aspects of engineering that have interested me, and some that I'd not really considered prior to my placement.
The atmosphere is generally good, on the whole I've enjoyed working with all of my colleagues while I've been here.
Support was available more often than not and for critical points there was always someone to speak to if needed.
As with anything sometimes there's more sometimes less. But generally there's been
Depending on circumstance and department the level of responsibility will differ but mine was certainly given plenty of responsibility.
There are many opportunities to go on training courses and learn useful skills.
The Company
There's a good atmosphere and you can have some fun. . . but of course you'll still need to get the work done
There are certain aspects that could have been improved upon regarding the placement scheme as a whole. But generally we were informed of any particularly important aspects.
I've managed to attend a numeber of training sessions and have a training visit coming up
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
I think the future employment prospects are quite good, there are a large number of people here that have been placement students and have come back after they have finished university.
The Culture
We'd all get together regularly as students. And on fewer occasions other colleagues would attend or organise some sort of event.
It's not extrememly expensive but I've been in cheaper places. . . particularly for petrol if you want/need to travel around a bit.
not great, but you can't expect too much considering where the plant is located.
There are a number of activities that you can take part in (depending on your preference) but if you're looking for some more unusual activities you may need to go further away to find them.
