About You
I really enjoyed this placement as it provided a great insight into consulting. I also enjoyed the opportunity to meet other likeminded individuals from other schools and universities around the country. They too were passionate and keen to learn more, which fostered a really great, productive environment. By the end of the placement, we were all friends.
I definitely felt as though my opinions were valued and respected. What was particularly nice was that I was never denigrated because of the questions I asked - even if they were trivial. This meant that I was confident to ask questions all the time - especially those that were hard to find answers to elsewhere.
We were given a lot of guidance during the insight, especially regarding CVs and interviews. They also gave us support regarding school and universities placements.
Plenty of CV workshops were provided that were really great. They were all tailored to our age and ensured that we could use the skills in the future regardless of what career we wanted to pursue.
The Company
This was very well structure. Perhaps the best thing was the fact that the days were split into quarters and lunch was provided every day. There was almost no downtime and no waiting around for consultants to arrive.
Really great fun, supportive people. Absolutely amazing. The people I met, both employees and students were so incredibly nice in providing me with the information I required regarding consulting and CVs.
There was not much time for this. Very good insight into the life of a management consultant. Really wish I could do this again. They also provided us with skills regarding interviews for all job types - not just consulting.
Very good insight into the life of a management consultant. They were good at explaining the hierarchy to us and making sure that we knew exactly what the job entails. We even got to see the timetable for a real consultant and an auditor. We even got to talk to HR people regarding their jobs and experiences. These people were especially friendly and told us about the company's intranet system.
This provided a good insight into the life of a management consultant. Really wish I could do this again. Staff members from many departments told us about the quirks of the job, and their working hours.
Everything Else
We met around 4-5 different employees from an extremely wide spectrum of areas. Each provided a very good insight into the life of a management consultant. They used great personal anecdotes.
There was no networking/ social event opportunities, but the placement did provide a very good insight into the life of a management consultant by putting us into contact with many different employees.
We found out about a lot of these activities. This made it a good insight into the life of a management consultant. Really wish I could do this again.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, especially those looking to become a consultant. Perhaps even those who are not looking to go into the field. Really wish I could do this again.
