The Role
Enjoyable placement, lots of contact with other placement students as well as experienced professionals. Great opportunity to get involved with projects outside of your job role.
Defiantly felt valued by my direct colleagues and peers, occasionally I didn't feel valued enough by the wider IBM community.
My task manager was excellent, I had lots of contact time with her and she always had time to help and advise. She even took a keen interest in my personal development as a professional.
Generally I was kept busy, there was occasions where work was slow to come through but on the most part always had something to be getting on with.
My professional skills and competencies have definitely developed over the year.
The Company
The office area I worked in was energetic, there was always conversations to be had.
The placement was well set up with clear development guidelines set in place for the placement students. However sometimes difficult to get the advise you need due to the large numbers of internes and some placement roles appeared to offer more exposure than others.
The company definitely has development in mind, all interns were appointed a development manager and had three days throughout the year specifically aimed at development.

I would certainly be keen to take a position with IBM as a graduate in a front office consulting role. As I have been on the placement scheme I have the benefit of applying for graduate roles early and will be judged based on my performance this year.
The Culture
Great social scene, lot's of placement students and some of the professionals were a laugh too.
as expected the cost of living in London has been expensive, however not so expensive I didn't have social life.
