The Role
was more office based than i had hoped
i was asked to assist with anything that i could with their work or just look at what they were doing which was interesting and made me feel valued
the manager had never had a placement student before so did not really know what iu would want but this meant i could mould the time a bit to what i wanted
not very busy but made to feel like what i did was worth while
no responsibility however i did organise the leaflets that they had had in a pile for years so that genuinely helped them
not really given skills but the experience in the company was good to have had
The Company
was quite flat but people were friendly and open to questions and showing me things
i had to do all the organisation and setting up as atkins in cambridge did have an official placement
they did not put anything into future investment in me it was a current short term placement
i expect if i applied they would see the fact i had had this time with them a a good thing
The Culture
i was the only placement student there so there was no socialising between students
i was living at home so the costs were as they would have been during that time
didnt really use or know it it was not associated with the job and would not have benefited the or added to the experience
no there wasn't but cause it was a drive away i could not really get involved
