    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was great, there are few things that I would change. A few more graduate/student events would have been amazing. As for actual work I had great exposure to various project and worked on a few.

  • Felt welcome, great culture and people were friendly and extremely helpful.

  • Manager and the whole team was busy but whenever I asked for help I received.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days I had only reading to do, eg learn about a software or about the discipline but others were good mix where I struck a good balance of learning and working

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Early on I was given an important part of a small project. Then given another key document to update in a very large project as well as do early work on another large project.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learnt valuable experience on new software as well as the way a consultancy worked

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Sometimes quite lively but sometimes quiet and silent as work was done

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well set up. Not very structured, ie with a program to follow, it was more flexible and I felt this was better.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A good amount, I was able to work on a few international jobs and gain an insight into a range of projects.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very close to a job, one more assessment centre to go! Internship bypasses most of the job hunting process for this company and they have a record of employing previous students.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Amongst the graduates it's been relatively new at creating events but it is growing. There is already regular events once a month at least and will increase in future.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Local so doesn't quite apply. Food can be pricey in restaurants as well as drinks

  • Petty good but expensive at weekends.....

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes! Took part in two events of the corporate decathlon
