The Role
It was very volatile. The internship began slowly before picking up speed, which was highly enjoyable. However, after I was transferred to another team the internship lost momentum again, and it was a struggle to keep myself busy, due to lack of proper training.
Initially it was just my manager and I, which was a nice relationship. However, when I moved to a team then I felt very much a part of the community.
Both managers tried to be helpful, but unfortunately were extremely busy and struggled to make time for me.
See above -- there were periods of both, but definitely not enough busy overall.
I was given the opportunity to work on my own models, which was great
Not quite related to my degree but the soft skills will absolutely help my career advancement and competency, regardless of business area.
The Company
Friendly and helpful, with a desire for excellence across the board.
Good induction, reviews, social activities.
Had senior speakers talking, online training, 2-day induction training, personal development planning workshop. But I guess time spent with me by my colleagues was worth the most - they really try to teach you.
Subsidised Canteen
Would love to return, especially if I were working in a position similar to that of my first manager due to the high levels of hardwork and focus required, which I enjoyed.
The Culture
My experience meeting the other interns was the highlight of my placement.
Relatively high, but that was inevitable.
It was great as always in London.
Not necessarily company-sponsored, but yes they were available.
