The Role
It has been an amazing time. If you're a developer then Desktop Engineering is a great place to start at.
They were nice to me from the get-go. I have even kept some contact information they gave me.
Everyone is really helpful when clarifications are needed.
The first 2 weeks and the last week it was pretty quiet. But in between I was really busy all day.
I was working on something very important so that's where my responsibility was. Aside that, not really.
I have learned another programming language and paradigms as I've gone along. This will hopefully help in my last year project.
The Company
The atmosphere is serious/work-oriented with splashes of fun.
This is the only short-coming I have found. The set up was a bit rocky but after the first week everything went smoothly.
As they are Microsoft partners I could've taken any Microsoft course available.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Definitely a good place to be employed at.
The Culture
All the interns are very sociable and a big group was formed in the first week.
London, Canary Wharf is extremely expensive but London is expensive pretty much anywhere anyway.
There isnt any real nightlife. Few pubs but no clubs.
There is an event nearly every week. Especially at the start of the internship. It's possible to get involved in Diversity groups all the time though.
