The Role
It was a very enjoyable placement, however there were times when I was bored and didn't have much to do.
Very valued, eveyone was welcoming and nice.
Some management were very helpful and supportive, others less so though these people were in the minority
I did get very bored sometimes, just because as an intern you cannot take on massive projects that you know you would not complete. I think if I was employed as a graduate at Rolls-royce I would not have been bored.
I was given complete responsibilty of the intrumentation for an engine and left to get on with it, this was great as I had free reign and felt really valued!
Very useful for time management, using the day, working to a budget and schedule.
The Company
My office did not have as much banter as some of the offices, but I still had a good time!
Very well organised by HR etc. however individual departments were not as good at organisation, they didn't seem to plan anything before the interns turned up.
Very heavily invested in. I was allowed to apply for training courses as long as I could justify needing them. I was able to complete a computer aided design course.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The job prospects are very good, there is a lot of variety and the graduate scheme looks excellent. All the current graduates clearly really enjoy it and highly reccommend it!
The Culture
Lots of other interns, all very friendly and nice, met in the canteen and went out on group events such as go karting and to the pub.
Bristol is quite expensive, but as I go to uni there I'm used to it
Bristol nightlife is amazing!
very good apprentice association
