The Role
I enjoyed meeting people, both other interns and Deloitte employees who I worked with, however I feel being on scheme 3 has a great disadvantage to graduate job applications and many opportunities are not available and hence greatly reduced my enjoyment of the scheme.
I enjoyed the work I was given but again being on the scheme 3 I think is a great disadvantage as external candidates appear to be given interviews before interns so there is no benefit to being on the SVS.
The team I was working with was very helpful and happy to answer all my questions.
With the internship only being 3 weeks I don't feel I have developed many new skills
The internship felt slightly disorganised and as it is a quiet time of year there often wasn't any work I could help with.
The office atmosphere is really nice and everyone is very friendly and helpful. All the other interns were great fun and I have made some very good friends.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very relaxed. The people I worked with were always very willing to help and other that I did not work with gave up their time to talk to me about the company/ different departments
The scheme felt a bit disorganised as it is a quiet time of year there was often no work I could be involved with.
We had an interview skills session which was very helpful in preparing us for the Deloitte interview.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I feel being on scheme 3 of the SVS has greatly disadvantaged my job prospects compared to being on one of the earlier schemes which to me seems highly unfair and was not conveyed when applying. I feel a lot of opportunities have already been filled by earlier schemes and outside applicants who haven't completed the internship.
The Culture
Yes other interns often organised drinks ect after work and following socials
London is a very expensive city to live in and socialise but this came as no surprise
There are many pubs and bars very close to the office, all of which are busy after work on most days
This wasn't something I asked a great deal about but I believe there are many opportunities for full time employees
