The Role
I really enjoyed the role and thoroughly enjoyed the people and opportunities that came with the internship.
During this placement I held the same role as full-time employees meaning that like them I am a crucial part of the team.
All management is very friendly and supporting and I was also assigned an on the job coach in my team who was always there to answer all questions no matter how silly.
My schedule was very full and during times it wasn't there was lots of opportunities to engage with new areas of the company to better utilise your time.
I was given much higher levels of responsibility then I expected and was put in the same roles as full-time staff.
I have learned and developed so many skills during placement that will not only aid my degree but also during future employment.
The Company
The office is very young in terms of average age, as almost all staff have come through placements meaning that it is very lively and active and always something happening.
Intel have been doing placements for a long time now and almost all workers have come from placement years so the scheme is very well run.
I have had extensive training and continue to sign up for more upcoming classes that are offered.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
The employment prospects are very high as Intel primarily employ from placement students.
The Culture
There are a lot of other interns making an Intern community. Meaning that there is always something going on and people to relax with.
Swindon is a very cheap area to live in comparison to other areas in the country,
Swindon nightlife is the the greatest but it is what you make of it, if you have a good group of people to go out with then it is still a good night. plus it is very close places like Cardiff, Bristol and Oxford.
There is always football, cinema nights, show nights, nights out all on a weekly basis.
