About You
The First Year Workshop was excellently organised and thoroughly planned. Taking part in various group exercises (such as ADR and M&A negotiation exercises) significantly enhanced my understanding of tasks undertaken at trainee/associate level. I also gained a thorough insight into Herbert Smith Freehills, as considerable amount of time was devoted to Trainee Shadowing, which was very interesting and useful.
I felt that the firm took very good care of First Year workshop students. There was a genuine interest and enthusiasm from all staff involved in the variety of exercises and activities.
There were many opportunities to ask questions. I found that the guidance/support received from trainees we were shadowing was particularly useful.
Very useful career advice, in terms of application forms as well as interviews. I believe the skills concerning drafting of contracts will be particularly useful at assessment centres, where assessment takes place through similar exercises.
The Company
There was a clear plan and agenda for both days. The structure was excellent and the firm put considerable effort to vary the exercises and activities we undertook during both days.
It was great! Great variety of exercises/tasks and presentations as well as fun activities at the end our first day.
I received considerable amount of guidance and advice in terms of my career path.
I found that shadowing the trainee particularly helped in my understanding of what it would be like to have full time role with the firm.
The presentations and subsequent shadowing felt genuine, giving a thorough understanding of the firm's culture.
Everything Else
Reimbursed Travel Expenses.
Plenty, ranging from presentations, lunches, Q/A panels to informal networking at an evening event.
Our visit to the Stardust exhibition and subsequent networking event at Covent Gardens was excellent!
There was considerable overview of the extra-curricular activities available to trainees and associates outside of the typical working hours.
Certainly! A great opportunity and very useful for future careers development!
