The Role
I really valued the placement and the experience that I gained from being fully integrated in the team.
From the beginning the team looked for ways to get me involved with not just the day to day work but with the wider business teams.
During the time I was at Mundipharma Carolyn and the team helped me develop soft skills (via sending me on presentation skills courses, training temps etc) and were supportive in assisting me with my dissertation after I left the company.
As with all jobs there are peaks and troughs, when there are many project and contracts to work on you will be kept on your toes. Saying that in quiet times you are never without work.
I believe I became an integral member of the team, getting involved in all aspects of the role, from the more basic administrative tasks through to looking after new more complex contract negotiations and budgeting queries. This also included a stint in the Limburg office to assist the team there.
The placement allowed me to apply my knowledge I learnt on the job to new modules and I ended up tailoring my dissertation to the work Mundipharma do. I still keep in touch with the team since starting back in 2008!
The Company
Very open and honest.
As the first placement student it my year wasn't necessarily planned out however the team consistently looked at ways to integrate me into their working practices.
I was put on both internal and external training courses, went through full performance reviews as any other employee. My work was regularly reviewed to see where I could improve.

If I hadn't moved to London I would have certainly looked at rejoining the firm
The Culture
There were 3 other placement students whilst I was at Mundipharma and I lived with one of them, the firm made sure we we're introduced before starting and I still keep in touch with my old housemate! Cambridge is a lively student city so there is always something going on.
