The Role
Throughly enjoyed the challenge and structure of the scheme and role.
You can't get on with everyone - fact of life. But a vast majority at Fujitsu are extremely supportive and great people to work with.
The support structures in place were extremly useful and I always felt I had someone I could turn to.
On occasion I would have to work very long days/weeks but these were equally balanced with shorter and more relaxed days - ultimately the perfect mix to keep you optimised.
Even as a placement student I had the same expectations as my fellow team memebers, which was daunting at first but having the same responsibilities really makes you feel a valued part of the business - which you are.
This year has been invaluble both in helping me understand how what I am learning at university can be applied to the 'real world' and the skills I have/need to suceed after graduation.
The Company
Office life is never going to be a party but everyone has a fantastic sense of humour and even Monday mornings there would be laughing and joking.
The structure of Fujitsu's Industrial Placement year complemented our individual roles and worked extremly well in continually develping us as students.
Personally, I felt I was given fantastic oportunites for personal growth but not only becuase I was an IP but because development opportunities are available to all in Fujitsu.
The graduate and future leaders scheme within Fujitsu are extremely attractive and it is clear that graduates and IP's can and have succeeded within the organisation.
The Culture
My cohort of approximately 20 bonded very well and went on regular social events both exclusively Fujitsu and also events that mixed with other local placement students.
Affordable but don't expect to save much on a placement salary.
Existent, not exceptional.
A good amount of charity events and sport clubs were available to sign up to should you wish.
