The Role
Working at Fujitsu was a really good experience. I had some great exposure throughout the organisation, and have developed massively this year.
I had a really great team, who I bonded well with. The only issue was the geography as I didn't get to spend as much time some as I did others.
Had the support of various team members throughout the placement.
My role meant that I had very contrasting periods. At some points I would be extremely busy, working long hours, and long weeks. During other times I wouldn't have much on, and work was quite flexible.
I was surprised with the amount of responsibility I was given within my team. I was treated as a normal individual, and not an intern - which I really respected.
Skills I've gained this year will be a massive help for the future, especially in employment. I have developed personally and think this will help me too.
The Company
I worked in numerous offices, so had various experiences. The London office is exciting as there is always people about. However, other locations aren't quite as exciting...
Structure was one of the conerns I had this year. There were points (especially early on) where I was unaware of my tasks and responsibility. This did improve, and I learnt quickly that by being proactive you can engage in some really good stuff. The placement programme overall is well organised, as you get to do some useful stuff as a group of IP's. Notably the CSR challenge.
I took part in a number of courses and was shocked at the willingness to invest. I was pleased that I had the opportunity to engage in some training programmes.

There is a good opportunity to progress onto the grad scheme. At the end of your placement you submit preferences for job roles and then attend a specific assessment centre.
The Culture
This was at times a bit of struggle due to the geography of all the IP's. However, when we got together (usually once a month) we had some really good social events. We took it upon ourselves to organise such events. e.g. a trip to Royal Ascot Races
Socialising in London is clearly expensive. However, I lived in the Reading area, which meant I saved some money on rent.
London has amazing nightlife, so diverse - so something for everyone.
Lots of team nights out, and IP social events.
